Ike Emehelu

Ike Emehelu, a co-leader of Akin Gump’s Projects & Energy Transition practice, focuses his practice on domestic and cross border energy and infrastructure transactions, with an emphasis on renewables and energy transition project development and finance.  Ike represents strategic investors, developers and lenders and other financiers on the development, financing and acquisition of conventional power, solar, wind, battery storage, biomass and other energy projects.  He also has experience with the financing of pipelines, industrial plants, and transportation projects. 

Ike has been recognized by several publications, including Chambers USA (2010–2022) and Chambers Global (2021–2022) in the category “Projects: Renewables & Alternative Energy, 2021”, Legal 500 US, Project Finance (2020 – 2022), Legal 500 US, Energy: Renewable/Alternative Power, 2021 -2022) and by Acritas as an Acritas Star, 2020–2021

Ike is on New York City Bar’s Vance Center Committee and is a member of the Cleantech Leaders Roundtable.
