Shayna Haynes
Shayna Hayes is currently the Head of Content for the National Football League’s Entertainment and Initiatives Department. She is responsible for setting the creative and editorial direction of the unit and bringing fresh, smart ideas for content amplifying the NFL’s social justice/impact initiatives and entertainment events. Born and raised in Mobile, AL, Shayna has compiled nearly 20 years of experience leading news and content production teams around the country.
Prior to joining the NFL, Shayna led the relaunch of daytime programming at Black News Channel before transitioning to lead the Special Projects/Original Content unit. Before joining the startup, Shayna was a producer on ESPN’s long-running series ‘Outside the Lines’ and news magazine series ‘E:60,’ winning several national awards over the years including an Emmy and Peabody for ‘Spartan Silence: Crisis at Michigan State.” Over her career she has also been awarded 2 regional Emmy awards, a duPont and Edward R. Murrow Award. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from American University in Washington, DC.
In her free time, Shayna can be found either reading a good book or jet setting around the globe with the travel group she founded, Black Waunderlistas. The group curates trips and tours for groups of Black women and so far they have visited Greece, Thailand and Colombia.
