Nora Chin

Nora Chin currently serves as the Deputy Chief Design Officer with the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office. In this role, she works collaboratively with city agencies to elevate and promote holistic urban design policy and initiatives. She is a transportation planner by experience and training and has developed funding to support the launch of public transportation projects in Los Angeles. In previous roles, Nora worked in non-profit affordable housing development and community planning. 

She is currently the Chair with the Southern California Institute of Transportation Engineers Professional Development Committee. She is a thoughtful urban planning professional with experience and expertise in large government administration. Nora is passionate about public transit – buses, trains, planes, people walking and cycling, and equitably designed public spaces and facilities. 

Nora received her undergraduate degree in Business Management Economics, and double master degrees in City and Regional Planning and Science in Transportation Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Nora enjoys reading books, painting, yoga, and other sports.
