Natasha Fortune
Natasha Fortune is a dedicated child advocacy attorney, driven by a sense of purpose and duty to provide access to justice and a voice for disadvantaged youth. In her current role as Assistant Attorney-in-Charge in the Juvenile Rights Practice of The Legal Aid Society, she serves as defense counsel in juvenile delinquency proceedings, represents children in abuse and neglect proceedings, and supervises a team of attorneys in Bronx Family Court. Natasha is a mentor to interns of color, is a member of the Hiring Screening Committee, and supervises clinic interns, attorney volunteers, and Legal Outreach students.
Outside of work Natasha serves on the New York City Bar Association Juvenile Justice Committee where she is able to partake in discourse on legislation regarding justice-involved youth. Her commitment to serving the public goes beyond the courtroom and she frequently volunteers to assist Project Window, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young girls by building their self-confidence and providing them with mentorship and life skills. For three years she served as Treasurer on the board of the Association of Black Women Attorneys.
She is also a certified Tax Preparer and owned a tax franchise. In her free time, Natasha enjoys weight training, live music, and traveling.
