Milan Reed
Milan has devoted her career to public service and to advancing education and urban policy. She currently serves as the Manager of Operations and Program Policy for the New York City Department of Education (DOE), Division of Early Childhood Education. In this role, Milan leads strategic initiatives to support the expansion of early childhood education, on student health and safety, and other critical policy issues.
Prior to working for the DOE, Milan was a Teach for America corps member in Newark, New Jersey, where she was an educator and school leader for four years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Virginia and a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University. Milan is a proud Harlemite, and serves on Community Board 10. She is a member of the Studio Museum in Harlem, Apollo Theater, and Higher Heights.
