Maureen Ufomadu
Maureen Ufomadu is Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Snap. She has 10+ years of experience in the Tech industry, with a passion for bridging the digital divide and connecting underrepresented and underserved communities to Tech. Currently, she leads the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness (IDEA) team at Snap responsible for developing, operationalizing, and implementing company-wide DEI strategy.
Maureen joined Snap after 5 years at Meta (formerly Facebook) where she led initiatives across recruitment,
employee engagement, data, learning and development, and was global lead for Black Women@ Meta. She got her start at Google, has also worked in startups like Blue Apron and as a consultant with Jopwell, which worked to connect companies to Black, Latinx, and Native Americans students and professionals across the industry. Prior to Tech, Maureen was a briefing attorney for the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Texas and did research that sat at the intersection of psychology, race, law, and policy.
She has a BA degree in Psychology and Afro-Diaspora studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University. Maureen resides in Brooklyn, NY and on the weekends, you’ll find her running long distances around Prospect Park (5 full marathons and 24 half marathons and counting), reading novels authored by Black and Brown authors, and volunteering with her church community in Harlem.
