LeMel Lindsey
As Senior Program Manager, LeMel Lindsey is responsible for the oversight of the formation of new BIDs throughout the city as well as the expansion of existing BIDs. New York City currently has a network of 73 BIDs that respond to the needs and desires of neighborhoods throughout the city. As the city sees the addition and expansion of more BIDs, LeMel guides BID teams with best practices promoted by SBS and serves as a resource to the communities in these efforts. Prior to his time at SBS, LeMel served as a project management intern for Fulton County where he worked on affordable housing projects in Atlanta, Georgia. He also served as a Community Board 6 Planning Fellow for the Fund for the City of New York. In this capacity, LeMel did extensive work and research on the East Midtown rezoning effort as well as transportation initiatives in the district.
In addition to his background and passion for urban development, LeMel also has a background in Mandarin and Chinese Studies. LeMel holds a Master in Urban Planning degree from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a B.A. in Political Science and minor in Mandarin from Morehouse College.
