J’Naia Boyd

J’Naia L. Boyd is a Senior Associate at BakerHostetler in the Litigation Group. J’Naia has a broad background in litigation, having represented clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies and global brands in matters involving complex contract disputes, trademark and copyright infringement, bankruptcy, business torts, fraud, insurance, and enforcement of non- disclosure and arbitration agreements. J’Naia has successfully prosecuted and argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit and the New York appellate courts involving diverse areas of the law, including commercial litigation, trademark infringement, attorney malpractice, labor and employment law, and premises liability. J’Naia is also a member of the BakerHostetler team serving as court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, an unprecedented recovery effort involving hundreds of actions.

J’Naia is serving a fourth term as an Executive Board Member of the National Bar Association, Women Lawyers Division (WLD). She also serves as Co-Chair of the WLD We Empower Mentoring Program. In the New York State Bar Association, she is an appointee on the Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction.

J’Naia has been recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and received the New York State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section, 2022 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. A staunch proponent of pro bono service, J’Naia served as pro bono counsel for indigent tenants facing eviction through Nassau/Suffolk Law Services and was recognized by Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center as the 2020 Public Interest/Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. J’Naia currently serves as pro bono co-counsel in a case against the City of Rochester and the Rochester Police Department for police brutality during the 2020 peaceful Black Lives Matter protests.

J’Naia received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Howard University and her

Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
