Dwight Williams
Dwight Williams is a passionate educator, coach, and community organizer, currently serving as a Math Coach and Facilitator at Bank Street School of Education, focused on advancing educational equity in math. With over a decade of experience, he leverages his expertise in math education, instructional coaching, and school leadership to create transformative learning experiences for students of color. His work has contributed to measurable improvements in student outcomes, including increasing math proficiency rates and building students’ confidence in math.
He began his career in education as a Teach for America corps member, teaching middle school math in New York City. Dwight holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Andrews University with a minor in Mathematics, a master’s degree of teaching with a focus on Middle Childhood Mathematics from Relay Graduate School of Education, and a graduate certificate in Instructional Coaching from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. He has since served as a math instructional coach and Assistant Principal, where he collaborated with teachers and school leaders to improve math instruction at scale.
He serves as Vice-Chair of the Teach for America NYC Alumni Association Board, on the Alumni and Student Advisory Council for Relay Graduate School of Education, an advisor to the Young Education Professionals NYC organization, and is a New Leaders Council – New York City alum.
Outside of work, Dwight enjoys reading, the outdoors, playing sports, watching live sporting events, and investing time with his friends and family.
