Dianna Simmons

Originally from Waldorf, Maryland, I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2015 with degrees in Psychology and Criminology. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to participate in City Year, a service program dedicated to supporting students and schools in underserved communities. My passion for technology led me to a coding bootcamp at UCLA Extension, where I transitioned into a career in software engineering in 2018.

Currently, I am a Frontend Engineer at SoundCloud, where I enjoy combining creativity and technical skills to enhance user experiences. Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. I volunteer with Sharing Love With Others, an organization dedicated to feeding and clothing unhoused individuals on Skid Row.

Through the CUP program, I am excited to connect with fellow professionals of color, expand my leadership skills, and continue driving positive change in both my career and community.
