Clarevonte Clay Williams

Born and raised in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. Clarevonte “Clay” Williams is a public servant, nonprofit enthusiast, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. After graduating high school. Clay wanted to attend a Historically Black College & University (HBCU) after considering a wide range of opportunities. Clay decided to attend Morgan State University. While achieving his degree in Political Science, Clay served in many professional and leadership roles. Clay served as President of the Political Science Association and Assistant District Director of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. After graduating, Clay decided to head to Washington D.C to work in the public sector. Clay has worked in the United States House of Representatives, Maryland’s General Assembly, The White House, and the nonprofit sector. After working in the public sector for a few years. Clay decided to go back to school and get a master’s degree.

His Master’s degree came from another HBCU, Bowie State University, where he served as the President of the International Business Club and Pi Alpha Alpha honor society. Clay took his Master’s degree and shifted his career to Finance, where he works presently. Clay currently works as a Financial Advisor and focuses specifically on helping black and brown individuals as well as helping companies identify equitable funding, which has been historically more challenging.  

Clay has co-founded a VC accelerator named Venture for T.H.E.M (Tech High-Performers & Entrepreneurial Minorities). Venture for Them is a cohort-based startup accelerator for minority founders. Venture for them gives funding, coaching, mentorship, network opportunities, and various other resources to excel in their early-stage operations. Clay’s hobbies include volunteering, reading science fiction, and producing Film and TV. Clay’s philosophy of life is “A change is brought about because ordinary people do extraordinary things.
