Chantal Hinds

Chantal is a fellow at The Century Foundation, senior policy entrepreneur at Next100, and an advocate for students in the foster system. Chantal’s work focuses on systems change through public policy research, writing, and advocacy to improve academic outcomes and narrow the opportunity gap between students in the foster system and their peers. She has been featured in various news outlets and podcasts and received the Black Voices for Black Justice award for her advocacy work.

Prior to her time at The Century Foundation, Chantal practiced law and was an education attorney at Advocates for Children of New York. Chantal also led a grassroots, faith-based nonprofit organization that provided free legal, health, and nutrition services in low-income communities in New York.

Chantal volunteers as a mentor through Connections Mentor and a board member for SchoolHouse Connection.

Chantal holds a BA in political science from Adelphi University, a JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and a master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
