Adan Soltren

Adan Soltren Esq. is a staff attorney with The Legal Aid Society’s Harlem Community Law Office. Adan works closely with tenant associations and groups of tenants in Manhattan on a wide array of legal matters pertaining to New York housing law. He engages in civil court litigation, negotiation, community education, non-litigation advocacy, and community empowerment on behalf of his clients. Adan also sits on the Executive Board and Bargaining Unit of the United Auto Worker’s (UAW) Association of Legal Aid Attorneys (ALAA) Local 2325. In his many roles within the union, he has represented the interests of hundreds of attorneys employed by The Legal Aid Society. As a representative for the Attorneys of Color at Legal Aid (ACLA) Adan implemented mentorship programs for legal interns of color, engaged in recruitment of attorneys and interns of color, and participated in a competitive program developed by the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law designed to train legal advocates on how to incorporate a race equity framework throughout all levels of their organizations.

Before coming to The Legal Aid Society, Adan ran his own legal partnership specializing in immigration law in the Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia area. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for Settlement Health, a federally qualified health center based in East Harlem. Adan received his B.A. in Sociology from The George Washington University in 2009 and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2012.
