Valentino Carlotti is a Partner and the Head of the Corporate Advisory and Banking practice within Private Banking, which supports private businesses owners in accomplishing their business and personal goals. In this capacity, he leads our effort to help clients achieve their family, wealth and business goals over generations. Prior to joining BBH in 2020, Val was the Chief Business Development Officer at Sotheby’s Auction House and a member of its Executive Management Committee. Prior to Sotheby’s, he was a Senior Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he worked from 1994 to 2017. During his career at Goldman Sachs, Val held leadership roles in Investment Banking, Institutional Equities Sales, and Client Relationship Management, among other areas, culminating as the Head of the Institutional Client Group and President of the Goldman Sachs Brazil Bank. Outside of work, Val is involved in numerous philanthropic institutions, including serving on the boards of trustees of The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY), Carnegie Hall, The American Ballet Theatre, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). He was the 2017 recipient of BCNY’s “Harriman Award” for outstanding public service to the New York City community. Val earned his B.A. from Yale University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
