Jillian E. Joseph, Esq.

Jillian serves as Managing Director – Associate General Counsel at Nuveen Real Estate – one of the largest real estate investment managers in the world with $165 billion in assets under management.

Jillian is the one of the lead attorneys over $6+ billion of debt originations each year.  Jillian executes mortgage, mezzanine, and other structured debt transactions for the Nuveen Debt platform. She also leads secondary market executions including note-on-note, repo, and subscription line placement.  In addition to her extensive debt leadership, Jillian also supports the equity business in acquisitions and fund investments.

Outside of TIAA, Jillian serves as a Corporate Director on the Board of Carver Federal Savings Bank (NASDAQ: CARV) a publicly traded bank founded in 1948 to provide banking and financial resources to African American communities. Jillian is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre mission-driven industrial park, home to 450+ businesses employing more than 11,000 people and generating over $2.5 billion per year in economic impact for the city.

Jillian earned her J.D. with honors from University of Pennsylvania Law School and her undergraduate degree cum laude from Colgate University.

She resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two children.
