Alejandro Alvarez

Alejandro Alvarez is a Director at Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), focused on Tenant Advisory and Brokerage. His team advises venture backed startups, growth stage companies, fashion brands, non-profits and corporate users on all aspects of real estate strategy including leasing, ownership, portfolio strategy and contract negotiation. Mr. Alvarez has more than 9 years’ experience in the industry. During his tenure he has represented a wide range of clients across multiple sectors and geographies. 

Mr. Alvarez has been recognized for his impact to the commercial real estate industry as well as his community involvement. In 2020, he received the 30 Under 30 award from Commercial Observer which recognized the Top Leasing professionals in NYC under 30 and in 2019, he was recognized as a 7 Under 7 recipient by C&W, which awarded the accomplishment of seven Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders. In 2021 C&W honored Mr. Alvarez with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Impact Award for his contributions towards increasing DEI visibility in the industry and for paving the way for the next generation of Commercial Real Estate professionals. He was also awarded the Latinos 40 Under 40 award in 2019 by the publication NegociosNow which recognized the leadership of young Latinos in the NY metropolitan area. Most recently, Lehigh University’s Young Alumni Council recognized Mr. Alvarez as a 10 Under 10 award recipient. 

Mr. Alvarez is a strong supporter of increasing diversity in the Commercial Real Estate sector. He is the founding member of C&W’s first Latino Employee Resource Group, HOLA (Hispanic and Latino Advancement), and currently leads the group’s operations in the Tri-State region. He has been involved with ALPFA (The Association of Latino Professionals for America) since his time as an undergrad and now sits on the board of the NY Chapter. Since the summer of 2018, he has been a Lideres Young Professionals Board Member of LatinoJustice PRLDEF, a national civil rights organization. 

Mr. Alvarez earned a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University, where he graduated with a double major in Finance and Marketing and a Real Estate Minor. He continues to be involved with his alma matter through 

the College of Business and the Real Estate department. In his spare time, Mr. Alvarez enjoys traveling with his growing family, hiking, playing soccer and skiing.
