Morgan Stanley Smith BarneyNate provides legal advice to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management on broker dealer and investment adviser issues. Previously, Nate practiced in the Investment Management Group at Davis Polk. Since 2009, Nate has served on the SIFMA Alternative Investments Roundtable and previously served on the Investment Advisor/Broker-Dealer Task Force, Investment Advisory Committee and the Certified Financial Planner Board Business Model Working Group.
Nate is on the ASAFE Board of Directors, the NAMWOLF Advisory Council, and Co-Chair of the NYC Bar Association’s Committee to Enhance Diversity in the Profession. He is a former Chair of the Morgan Stanley Legal and Compliance Division Diversity & Inclusion Committee, a National Bar Association “40 Under 40,” and a CUP Fellow. Nate is a PALS and Legal Outreach mentor, currently sits on the LO Advisory Board, and was recognized as an “Elder of the Village.”
Nate graduated from Duke, where he co-founded the Business and Investment Clubs, and Georgetown Law, where he served on journal, moot court and as BLSA President.
