Karen Ndegwa
Karen is a Vice President at The Carlyle Group heading up the US CLO Compliance function of the firm. The function is responsible for maintaining the structural protections built into the Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) structure, and other CLO operational aspects that ensures the funds are investing in eligible investments.
Karen started her career working with CLOs at US Bank as a Syndicated Loan Operations associate, before growing into a CDO Analyst role focused on analyzing and producing investor reports on the CLOs. In 2018, she joined Brigade Capital as a CLO Associate focusing on CLO Operations among other CLO initiatives. She holds a Bachelors in Commerce degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from The Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University.
Karen, proudly Kenyan-American, is passionate about mentorship and career development. She currently volunteers as a mentor with Minds Matter NYC and previously Minds Matter Boston. She also serves on the board of the New York Kenyan Association (NYKA), a newly formed organization that seeks to foster a cohesive Kenyan community in New York.
