Malcolm X. Thorpe, Esq.

Malcolm X. Thorpe, Esq. is a skilled advocate, entrepreneur and problem solver who is currently a Litigation Associate at McManimon Scotland & Baumann where he represents individuals,

municipal agencies, and businesses entities. Malcolm has substantial experience in all aspects of commercial litigation and provides counseling services to municipal boards through the State of New Jersey. 

Prior to joining the firm, Malcolm was an Associate at an insurance defense firm in New York and New Jersey where he handled cases from inception through trial in both states. Malcolm also worked as a Claims Analyst for a large international insurance corporation where he oversaw claims for civil litigation matters involving professional and employment practice liability. Malcolm is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Thorpe Legacy Enterprises, LLC (“TLE”). TLE is a real estate development firm operating in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that was founded in 2020, with the purpose of providing quality and affordable homes to first time home buyers and renters. 

Malcolm is member of “Aaron’s Beard” – a professional group comprised of Black Attorneys created to promote community service, career advancement opportunities and brotherhood among attorneys of color in in New Jersey and New York. 

Malcolm is a first-generation college graduate and graduate of Rutgers University School of Law where he was an editor for Rutgers Business Law Review and a Civil Justice Clinic Advocate.
