Jasmine Wade
Jasmine has dedicated her legal career to service and just outcomes. Jasmine currently fulfills this mission as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor. Prior to joining federal service, Jasmine acted as the first Equal Employment Opportunity Officer for the New York State Office of the Attorney General, leading investigations into complaints of discrimination and harassment based on protected classes.
Jasmine previously investigated complaints of gender-based violence and harassment as a Title IX Investigator at New York University. Jasmine developed these investigative skills at the start of her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. Jasmine has maintained her commitment to the community as a mentor coach for first generation college students with America Needs You.
Jasmine has also served on young professional boards for Cristo Rey Brooklyn and a Better Chance, both education and leadership pipeline programs for academically talented students of color. Currently, Jasmine serves as the secretary on an all-African American female led board for Black Girl Smile, an organization devoted to mental wellness education for young girls.
Jasmine also remains active with institutions that have shaped her, serving on the New York City Alumni Council for her alma mater, the Westminster Schools and volunteer interviewer with a Better Chance. Jasmine obtained her undergraduate and legal degrees at the University of Virginia. As an undergraduate, Jasmine served as a Peer Advisor for first year African American students and as a big sister for local middle school girls in the Young Women’s Leadership Program.
As a law student, Jasmine was selected for an early cohort of the Law and Public Service Program, a distinguished group with a demonstrated promise of success in public service. Jasmine is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
