Naseem Sagati Aghili

Naseem Sagati Aghili is General Counsel and Secretary of Ares Management Corporation. She is a Partner and Head of the Ares Legal Group where she oversees a global team of legal and tax professionals, and serves on the firm’s Executive Management Committee, Enterprise Risk Committee and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. She additionally serves as the Senior Advisor to the Ares Network of Empowered Women (ANEW). 

Prior to being named the firm’s General Counsel in 2020, Ms. Sagati Aghili served in a variety of roles at Ares, including most recently as Co-General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel of Private Equity. Prior to joining Ares in 2009, Ms. Sagati Aghili was with Proskauer Rose LLP, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general corporate matters. 

Ms. Sagati Aghili holds a B.A. from the University of California Berkeley in Political Economy of Industrial Societies and a J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. In 2021, Ms. Sagati Aghili was named Global General Counsel of the Year by Lexology in partnership with the Association of Corporate Counsel. 

Ms. Sagati Aghili lives in Los Angeles with her husband, 3-year-old son and newborn daughter.
