Josue De Paz

Josue De Paz is the CEO & co-founder of First Tech Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to closing the digital divide by supporting students of underserved backgrounds in New York City with technology, practical skills, career exposure, and opportunities to succeed in the modern world. Launched in May 2020 during the midst of a global pandemic, First Tech Fund has provided 140+ high school students from all over NYC with a laptop, a hotspot, mentorship, and digital skills curriculum for the entire school year. Previously, he was a Community Partnerships & Outreach Manager at Girls Who Code, where he was responsible for all partnerships, outreach, and strategy across a portfolio of 9 states in the south of the US. Josue has also worked in for-profit roles earlier in his career, at companies like GLG and Collectively where he mostly focused on client partnership work. Outside of his formal role, Josue was most recently a 2021 Coro Workforce Systems Leadership Fellow and a 2021 NLC Fellow. Josue was also recently named as part of the inaugural 30 Under 30 class by NextGen Collective for his work in the nonprofit sector.

Originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, Josue immigrated to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University and is currently a DACA recipient.
