Michelle T. Fernando
Michelle is a seasoned television research professional with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She began her career as an Assistant at The Nielsen Company’s National Syndication Services West Coast division. Within four years she moved into Nielsen’s National TV Client Services as a Research Coordinator. While working full time at Nielsen, she also attended Cal State University, Dominguez Hills as a full-time student, majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Communications.
After almost a decade at Nielsen, Michelle pursued new research roles on the client side at TV Guide Network (now Pop TV) and The Hub (now Discovery Family Channel).
In early 2013, she accepted a Research Manager position at the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Most of her days are spent analyzing and providing linear insights to various internal departments. She is currently expanding her skills by immersing herself with Primary Research, by assisting the team in execute custom research (qualitative and quantitative studies) for various internal partners; such as consumer behavior, brand awareness, in-depth demographic studies, concept testing, series maintenance and marketing testing.
She currently resides in Long Beach, Calif with her rescue dog Vinny.
