Michelé Lopez
Michelé (pronounced Mi-CHE-le) Lopez is a Match Support Specialist of the Community Based Program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. Michele is passionate about working with youth, families, and communities by advocating
for education, youth leadership, social change, and community building. Over the last 10 plus years, she has spent much of her time working with families and youth in community based work in various underserved cities including New York City, Little Rock, New Orleans, and Los Angeles.
Through her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Michele has spent the last 3 years advocating their mission to empower youth’s potential through one-to-one mentoring relationships while supporting the social and emotional growth of BBBSLA youth.
She has also spent her time with BBBSLA building community partnerships, curating program events, and actively working towards expanding the reach of the program to the greater Los Angeles community.
Michelé is a proud Bronx, New Yorican (New York Puerto Rican), raised on Hip-Hop and Salsa. She enjoys, reading, dancing, and traveling while learning about various cultures through food, music, and art. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Medgar Evers College in Social Work as well as a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in the Bronx.
