Ara An
Ara An joined the City of Los Angeles – Department of Neighborhood Empowerment in May 2018 to promote civic participation in the Neighborhood Council system. She later joined the Mayor’s Census 2020 Initiative team to increase outreach efforts and ensure that more Angelenos get counted in the decennial Census.
Prior to working at the City of Los Angeles, Ara interned at Little Tokyo Service Center and Korean American Coalition LA, both organizations serve the community by providing social services, senior assistance, civic engagement, and immigration assistance. Ara also has work experience in human resources, legal affairs, and worked on the 34th Congressional District special election campaign for Robert Lee Ahn.
Ara has a BA degree in Asian Studies from University of California, Riverside, and is a proud Angelena who hopes that her work will contribute to more equity and opportunities for fellow Angelenos.
