Marcus Haymon
Marcus Haymon is an Associate Partner at Dalberg Advisors, a strategy consulting firm focused on social impact and global development. He leads Dalberg’s U.S. justice, equity, and mobility practice.
Marcus has led several engagements on strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and operational efficiency for U.S. based non-profits and philanthropies. Examples include developing a scaling plan for Sesame Street in Communities, Sesame Workshop’s signature domestic initiative; leading a strategic planning process for First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher college access initiative, and working with a California-based private foundation to place low-income youth of color at the center of its theory of change. In addition to his U.S. work, Marcus is passionate about advancing diversity and inclusion and is currently leading an engagement with UN Women to mobilize over $1BN to increase gender equality. He is also an advisor to GLAD, Dalberg’s LGBT+ employee resource group.
Outside of Dalberg, Marcus has worked at a number of leading non-profits focused on social justice and economic development in the U.S. Most recently, he was the inaugural Director of Operations and Special Projects at Color Of Change, a national racial justice organization. He has also worked at the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund, a venture philanthropy that invests in employment-generating social enterprises, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a community development financial institution. Marcus began his career in social impact as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.
Marcus has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a BA in Political Science from Yale University. He speaks French, Spanish, and Moroccan Arabic and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
