Shabbir Chaudhury
Shabbir Chaudhury is in-house counsel for MetLife, where he provides strategic advice to MetLife’s U.S. businesses and focuses on protecting business interests related to the sale, suitability, performance, and operations of individual and group annuities and insurance products. He also defends the company in various litigations, including securities-related class actions and lawsuits involving broker-dealer suitability, and works on the company’s litigation-related accruals and disclosures. Before joining MetLife, Shabbir was in private practice, where he focused on commercial litigation, and prior to that, he was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York.
Shabbir is on the board of the Muslim Bar Association of New York and is a member of the In-House Committee of the New York City Bar. He received his law degree from Fordham University and his Bachelor of Arts from New York University.
