Nneka Martin, Esq.
Nneka Martin is an Attorney in the Equal Employment Opportunity Office at the New York City Fire Department (“FDNY”). In this role, Nneka has a variety of responsibilities including conducting internal investigation of discrimination and retaliation, making recommendations to the Fire Commissioner on EEO related matters, and conducting EEO trainings and compliance inspections. Nneka has been committed to public service for the entirety of her legal career. Prior to joining the FDNY, Nneka worked as an Attorney in the United States Social Security Administration, served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Patricia P. Satterfield in New York State Supreme Court, and interned in the Antitrust Division of the Federal Trade Commission.
Nneka is also an active member of the legal community and devotes a significant amount of her time to the Association of Black Women Attorneys where she serves as Scholarship Committee Co-Chair, and previously served as a past Board of Director and Community Service Committee Co-Chair. She is also a member of the New York City Bar Association where she serves on the Administrative Law Committee. Nneka has a Juris Doctorate degree from St. John’s School of Law and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in both Journalism and Political Science. Nneka is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is a certified Pilates instructor.
