Alexis Jose Rios

Director of Marketing and Engagement

Alexis Jose Rios is the Director of Marketing and Engagement for the Council of Urban Professionals. His role includes co-producing and editing all of CUP’s marketing and online content, building sustainable community connections that will proliferate CUP’s overall mission for networking, and developing corporate partnership opportunities and recruitment efforts. Alexis has also reimagined CUP’s website for their 15th Anniversary Celebration of inspiring, elevating, and empowering the next generation of diverse business and civic leaders and women.

Prior to CUP, Alexis served as the Marketing Coordinator for a 130+ German-Heritage intimate apparel company called Anita International in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He organized, connected, and supported 10+ sales representatives across the country with any and all marketing materials to fulfill their responsibilities to the brick-and-mortar stores they serviced. He filmed, edited, and produced video content for social media and retailers at various active events in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. He also ran logistics on bi-annual trade show collateral in both New York and Las Vegas and collaborated to create 10+ in-store events with local retailers.

Prior to Anita International Corp., Alexis worked at William Paterson University’s School of Continuing and Professional Education Department as the Conference and Programs Coordinator. In the fall and winter months, Alexis identified, negotiated, and secured thought leaders in the finance, tech, and education spaces for continuing education conferences and summit offerings. In the spring and summer months, he coordinated and ran a highly successful Pre-College Summer Youth Program for middle and high school students, which was funded by a 5-year grant through the City of Paterson to engage and introduce Paterson’s youth to potential career pathways to success.

Alexis graduated from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ with a B.A. in Public Relations & Journalism.
