Jasmine L. Kent

Jasmine L. Kent is a media entrepreneur, consultant, and publicist responsible for pioneering a new genre of Public Relations blending Entertainment and Social Impact as a medium to influence the next generation of leaders.

After a corporate career spearheading Public Relations and Marketing campaigns in the hospitality and entertainment industries she recognized a gap between the intention of diversity and inclusion campaigns and the realities of the target audience. In 2019, she launched Jasmine LaVerne & Co. to advocate for underestimated, consequently underrepresented, creatives and entrepreneurs moving the needle in the

communities they serve. Through her leadership developing integrated communication strategies for lifestyle brands, thought leaders, and community organizations, Jasmine LaVerne & Co. clients have been featured in The Washington, Post Black News Channel, Food and Wine, Black Enterprise Magazine, Mogul Millennial, and more.

Whether hosting a community event, delivering a creative workshop, or building signature multimedia programs for clients, Jasmine’s north star is to not only develop newsworthy campaigns but to shine a light on the influence marginalized groups have on culture.

Passionate about the impact of Black America’s influence on mainstream media and global culture, she has raised over $100K in sponsorship and in-kind donations to give underrepresented storytellers and emerging executives opportunities to develop relationships with leaders in the entertainment industry – earning National Urban League Young Professionals’ Outstanding Member of the Year – Western Region award and New Black Power award. Jasmine has also received recognition by American Business Women’s Association – Diamonds of South Bay Chapter as the 2020 Young Women Entrepreneur of the Year.

Jasmine earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Business minor from Virginia Commonwealth University and holds a certificate in The Business and Management of Entertainment from UCLA Extension. She currently serves as National Urban League Young Professionals’ Secretary.
