Essya Hanachi

Essya Hanachi is the Finance Chief Operating Officer at Citi. 

In this role, Essya partners with the Chief Financial Officer of Citi and functional leaders to implement a robust operating strategy for the Finance organization globally. Citi Finance is comprised of ~8,000 professionals across 87 countries. Essya also plays a key role in driving Citi’s transformation efforts, as a member of the firm’s Chief Administrative Officer leadership team. Prior to Citi, Essya was the CFO for JPMorgan Chase’s $150 billion credit card portfolio and led enterprise-wide capital stress testing and regulatory reporting. Earlier in her career, Essya worked at other large financial institutions, holding positions as Global Controller, Regional CFO, and Director of Internal Audit. 

Essya has actively advocated for a diverse and inclusive workplace throughout her career. She is the executive sponsor for Citi’s Women in Finance program and was a founding member of JPMorgan Chase’s Finance & Business Management Black and Latino Finance Advisory Council. 

Essya earned a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
