As the founder and CEO of Techademics, a Philadelphia-based company providing technology services for educational organizations and non-profits, social impact entrepreneurs, and philanthropic organizations worldwide, currently working across the United States, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Gaborone, Botswana.

Al supports many organizations through an embedded CIO and CTO service model integrating technology services, such as data science and software development, with learning science and design skills to deliver the best tools and practices to meet an organization’s needs. Al believes in leveraging technology for positive change and working collaboratively with his clients to support their digital transformation. 

Recently, Al actedas Chief Technology Officer Lead for Gallaudet University, a school for deaf students in Washington, D.C., supporting the shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Al served as Vice President of Technology, Systems & Data for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia, CIO for Philanthropi, a national Fin-Tech platform, and the Chief Technology Advisor for the Congressional Black CaucusFoundation. 

Al served as an instructor and mentor for the University of Pennsylvania’s Capstone Education Entrepreneurship Masters Program. A two-time Pahara Aspen Institute Fellow, Al is a nationally recognized expert in education innovation and instructional technologies for the K-12 sector, higher education, and adult learners.

Al currently serves as chair of the Board of Trustees for The Learning Accelerator and the Board of Directors for The Education Law Center in Pennsylvania. Al lives in Philadelphia with his wife and daughter.
