Sháka Rasheed is Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments – Americas at Lazard Asset Management. He leads the sales efforts for Alternative Investment strategies in addition to identifying and seeding promising hedge funds onto Lazard’s platform.

Prior to joining Lazard in 2013, Sháka was a Director in the Global Distribution group at Citadel Asset Management where he was the Acting Head of Citadel’s Americas Distribution business, devising and executing on the group’s business plan.  Immediately prior to joining Citadel, Sháka was a 16 year veteran of JPMorgan, where he served as Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor within J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Strategic Client Group.

He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with honors from Morehouse College.

Sháka values being a meaningful catalyst for change. He levers his experience of growing up in inner-city Miami to be a meaningful mentor to others while dedicating his time to organizations of high social impact.  Sháka served on the Board of the Robert Toigo Foundation as Finance Committee Chair; was a volunteer, board chair, and Founding Trustee of Achievement First Endeavor Charter School; and currently mentors many, including service to Toigo Fellows, the Kaplan Foundation, and FAST Track.
