Ms. Dunlap is Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs (“DCA”). The DCA protects and enhances the daily economic lives of New Yorkers to create thriving communities. DCA licenses more than 81,000 businesses in more than 50 industries and enforces key consumer protection, licensing, and workplace laws that apply to countless more. In her community, Ms. Dunlap connects people with legal resources through “Know Your Rights” programming that she organizes alongside community partners such as the NYPD. Further, Ms. Dunlap is a founding attorney with “The Initiative” – a project aimed at restoring the civil rights of people with criminal convictions with ultimate goal of allowing those people to sit and juries.

Ms. Dunlap is a proud graduate of George Washington University where she received her B.A. in International Affairs, cum laude, and Fordham University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor and MBA in Finance. In law school, Ms. Dunlap served as Thurgood Marshall Fellow to the New York City Bar Association and Research Fellow to the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. She is the recipient of the 2016 Heroine of Excellence Award for her work in community advocacy. She is also a classically trained ballerina and proud mother to her handsome son, Massawa. Ms. Dunlap believes giving back to her community using her unique skill set is a duty and pleasure.
