Mark Loyka is the US Country Director at Glasswing International, an international NGO that empowers communities by changing the lives of children and youth facing poverty and violence. Glasswing invests in the existing resources of communities in Latin America – its infrastructure and people – to create long-term impact and opportunities. Mark oversees the New York office, including strategy, operations, and financial planning. He has over five years of experience in the international development field.
Mark is committed to paying it forward through volunteerism and mentorship. He has served as a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties NJ, and has led an after-school basketball club at a public school in San Salvador, El Salvador. He participated in the American Express Leadership Academy, completing the program at the 2013 Points of Light Conference.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Elon University, where he was a member of Phi Alpha Theta International History Honor Society and Pi Gamma Mu International Social Science Honor Society. He and his wife, Lydiette, live in New Jersey. In his free time he enjoys training Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
