Joseph Borrero is a Vice President in Global Compliance at Goldman Sachs & Co. He focuses on compliance testing within the Investment Banking and Private Wealth Management divisions.

Previously, Mr. Borrero was an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, specializing in antitrust and securities litigation. While at Paul Weiss he maintained an active pro bono practice assisting veterans with claims against the Department of Veterans Affairs and was an advocate for the recruitment and advancement of minorities within the firm. He received a J.D. from George Washington University School of Law where he graduated Order of the Coif, was a George Washington Scholar, and a member of the Law Review.

He serves as a Deputy Regional President and a member of the Board of Governors of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the voice of the Hispanic legal community. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of The Maple Street School, which is an innovative play-based preschool in Brooklyn, New York. In August 2015, Mr. Borrero was appointed by Mayor of the City of New York to the Mayor’s Committee on City Marshals. He has twice been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine and was recognized by the Hispanic Coalition of NY as a “40 Under 40 Rising Star” in 2015.
