J. Andres Mayor is an attorney at the law firm of Day Pitney LLP, he joined the firm in 2006 and was named Partner in 2015. Mr. Mayor has experience representing companies in complex matters in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, New York, and throughout the United States. He has successfully handled product liability, mass torts and insurance coverage claims; real estate litigation; and contractual disputes. He also serves as the Chair of the Firm’s New Jersey Hiring Committee and oversees that office’s summer associate program. Mr. Mayor served on the Board of Trustees, as an Executive Officer, and as Scholarship Committee Chair, of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.
In 2014, Mr. Mayor received the Community Service Award from the Association of Latin American Law Students at Rutgers University. In 2015, he was chosen as one of the New Jersey Law Journal's New Leaders of the Bar. In 2016, he was a recipient of the Top Lawyers Under 40 Award from the Hispanic National Bar Association. During law school, Mr. Mayor served as Articles Editor for the Rutgers Law Review and published his student note. He also served as Co-Treasurer of the Association of Latin American Law Students. After graduation, Mr. Mayor worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Roberto A. Rivera-Soto, Associate Justice (Retired) of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Mr. Mayor received his B.A. from Rutgers University - Rutgers College.
