Alicia McCalmon is the Manager of Marketing & Communications, External Engagement, at the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP). As the Manager of Marketing and Communications, Alicia is responsible for managing all marketing and communication strategies, executing a daily social media plan, conducting website maintenance, managing the creation and development CUP's member-only portal, creating and distributing monthly newsletters, updating all marketing materials and managing all of the organizations public relations activities.
Prior to joining CUP, Alicia held positions at Pepsi Beverages Company and Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, where she was responsible for implementing innovative marketing campaigns, coordinating numerous program and event activities, and increasing brand awareness by developing top-of-the line communication strategies.
A graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI, with a B.S. in Business Marketing and a concentration in Sociology, Alicia is passionate about giving back to the community which she has demonstrated through her numerous years of volunteer and membership experiences including; the Community Baptist Church as an Inner City Youth Tutor, Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, American Marketing Association, Caribbean Student Association, and much more.
