On Wednesday, March 30, 2016, CUP convened a salon dinner and conversation with Ambassador Ron Kirk , Special Counsel at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, hosted by Gibson Dunn. Ambassador Kirk reflected on his career in Dallas and Washington, D.C., shared his perspective on the upcoming presidential election, and highlighted the power of building connections and networks.
CUP LAUNCHES IN LOS ANGELES
In October 2012, CUP hosted its first Distinguished Leadership Series (DLS) event in Los Angeles. Following that event we received tremendous feedback from professionals of color and women in the Los Angeles area who were interested in leadership development. As a result, CUP launched a pilot program and hosted a second DLS event in October 2013. Many thanks to our 39 CUP in LA Founders who have made the decision to join us and be a part of our organization's mission in LA. On Thursday, March 17, 2016, CUP convened a salon dinner and conversation with Courtney Armstrong, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Business Affairs at Warner Bros. Pictures hosted by Time Warner. Mr. Armstrong shared his perspective and strategies for positioning yourself for leadership, navigating your career: understanding the unwritten rules of success, and creating circles of reciprocity.
